Founded in April 2001, Investchem has grown to become a leading manufacturer and supplier of anionic surfactant products in South Africa. Our Distribution Channels

Investchem operates through a well-established distribution network to ensure efficient and reliable supply across South Africa. Our central warehousing and distribution hub is based in Gauteng, serving as the primary supply point. Additionally, we have a regional warehousing and distribution center in Cape Town, catering to customers in the Western Cape.

To reach smaller customers nationwide, we collaborate with various chemical distributors, ensuring accessibility across different regions. For coastal areas such as Port Elizabeth and East London, we rely on specialized chemical distributors to provide seamless deliveries.
This distribution framework enables us to maintain consistent stock availability and deliver high-quality service to all our customers.

Our Journey: The Growth and Milestones of Investchem

Investchem began its journey in November 2000, when the company was officially registered and plant engineering and construction planning kicked off. From the very beginning, we were committed to building a strong foundation, and by January 2001, plant construction was underway, marking the start of an exciting chapter.

In September 2001, we celebrated a major milestone with the successful commissioning of our Sulphonation Plant, setting the stage for further innovation. Just months later, in April 2002, we expanded our capabilities with the commissioning of our Continuous Neutraliser, a key addition to our operations.

The company continued to grow and evolve, and by July 2004, we proudly commissioned our second Sulphonation Plant, doubling our production capacity and expanding our reach. This strategic move demonstrated our commitment to meeting the growing needs of our customers.
To further enhance our service offering, we established Chemical Logistics in March 2006, enabling us to streamline our distribution channels and provide even more efficient and reliable delivery solutions to our customers.

In July 2007, we reached another important milestone with the commissioning of our third Sulphonation Plant, solidifying our position as a leader in the chemical manufacturing industry.

As part of our commitment to continuous growth and innovation, additional equipment was installed and commissioned in 2022 and 2024 to further increase our production capacity, ensuring that we can meet the evolving demands of the market.
